My locksmith experience and tips on how to survive being locked out of your Camden house

Recently I was locked out of my house in Camden. After a night of drinking I arrived home to find that my keys were nowhere on my person! Not only that but my phone was missing too it was a real emergency as it was late, cold and starting to rain! I had a terrible time, I really panicked but eventually and luckily, I was rescued by locksmiths whose number I happened to have written down on a piece of paper.
After this frightening experience I asked around for some advice from reputable locksmiths, friends and colleagues and came up with several ways I could prevent this from happening again and constructed several back up plans just in case. I will share these locksmith tips now, just in case it happens to you.

2. Leave a set of keys with a friendly neighbour who won’t mind being woken up in the early hours, or with a friend who lives relatively close. Alternatively, customers may use the locksmiths custodian program. It is not recommended to leave a key somewhere near your front door for your own security. Burglars often know where to look for spare keys and this would compromise the safety of yourself and your belongings.
3. If you do happen to find yourself locked out in Camden, don’t panic. Locksmiths are available 24/7. First see if there are any easily accessible windows open that you may be able to climb through. WARNING never try to reach or climb through a window that is dangerous to get to, for obvious reasons, there are many amusing but tragic stories of people who have hurt themselves whilst trying to climb through an inaccessible window. Also for security reasons you should never leave a window open “just in case” or you will be handing burglars your property on a plate!
