Locksmith memorandum
These sample memoranda below, can be use as a guide for institutional clients needs for procedures, in order to maintain security conditions after and during the locksmith related products installation. This document is to be used as a guide only, and does NOT intend to replace the original necessary documents produced to specific areas and organisation security needs.
Goals
The document demonstrates operating procedures and methods for the control of locksmith related products in a secure organisation, as part of their consolidated security methodology.
Appositeness
This paper is designed for security premises which require locksmith services. It is applied for both locksmiths and the organisation.
Security officer/ London locksmiths accountabilities
Be the point of contact and authority for all London locksmiths products installed in the premises and its related issues.
Perform recurrent control and monitoring of all locks, doors and keys to ensure acquiescence with internal regulations and protocols.
Align with locksmiths the maintenance and renewal of keys, doors ,locks and other defence mechanism.
Advance locksmiths installations and all related locksmith activities to the head buyer for approval, foregoing any locksmith activity.
Consult with the chief defence administrator before replacing existing locksmith security measures.
The chief defence officer will take into consideration local regulations (safety, fire etc) and organisation security requirements before approving any locksmiths actions.

Apply a custodian for each key/code. Create an appendix details the name of the custodians and their areas of responsibilities
Verify with custodians that all keys/codes are deposited in a secure place

Update key issues form whoever issues a key to monitor key holders.
Control and check that keys/codes are stored in the agreed safe in the end of the day
Manage inventory platform to include serial number, key number and key holding custodian.

Act according to organisational procedures and safeguard defence mechanisms, keys , entrances to make sure organisation safety/secrecy is maintained at all times. Ignoring these procedures can cause a breach of security!
